Latest Mass Effect comic series to shed light on new characters

5 Jan, 2012

The various incarnations of Mass Effect fiction over the last few years have worked hard to chronicle the trials and tribulations of the game’s rich cast of ambiguous characters – from Omega underworld boss Aria T’Loak to the shady Cerberus chief ‘The Illusive Man’.

With its growing collection of prose fiction and Dark Horse Comic’s colourful graphic novels, the Mass Effect series stands amongst several well know titles using peripheral media to introduce and expand new concepts within their games. Their latest offering – ‘Mass Effect: Homeworlds’ – is preparing to give us insight into Shepards latest squad mate ‘James Vega’, who will blaze the trail by featuring in issue one!

The character was first introduced to fans on Twitter recently, as creator Casey Hudson threw anxious fans a bone as thanks for his 10,000th follower. According to the Mass Effect boss the character is meant to represent the potential newcomers to the series and embodies an ‘antihero’ type role within the story.

Each of the ‘Homeworlds’ installments will centre around the key cast members of the Mass Effect 3 story, with the project being brought to life by the game’s lead writer Mac Walters. James Vega’s explosive series opener is said to be due in stores and via digital download outlets in April.
