Over the Christmas period Firefly Studios gave away almost 1,000,000 in-game strategy cards in Stronghold Kingdoms as part of their Christmas giveaway.
Players of the free-to-play online strategy game snagged over two weeks of free prizes – in total 750,000 cards were gifted, plus 13,000 rare premium tokens for Lords and Ladies of English, German, French and Russian descent. Over 42,000 players took part in the competition, which ended on 1st January 2012, winning up to 100 strategy cards each.
Stronghold Kingdoms is a unique MMORTS that combines PC and web-based gaming in a medieval setting and features rousing castle battles where players can build, besiege, pillage, farm, explore, research, vote and trade.
Paul Harris, Producer on Stronghold Kingdoms said, ‘This is the first event of its kind in Kingdoms and to have such an overwhelmingly positive response from players means a lot to us. You can certainly look forward to more community activity like this from Firefly in 2012.’
