Remedy Compliments Rockstar: “They Don’t Really Make Sh***y Games, do They?”

No, they really don’t. Fans would agree, with the highly-successful Grand Theft Auto series and 2010′s award-winning Red Dead Redemption. Max Payne creator and Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment is floored by Rockstar’s upcoming iteration of Max Payne 3, saying that it looks “brilliant.”

“We absolutely love what they’ve done and couldn’t be more proud of where the series is headed,” said Remedy boss Oskari “Ozz” Hakkinen in a brief interview with Kotaku. “I mean, [Rockstar] don’t really make sh***y games, do they? It’s as if the Rockstar logo has become this, ‘Seal of Quality.’”

No kidding. Anytime we think of the Rockstar logo, we think of high-quality games that will deliver a big punch.

Remedy sold the rights of Max Payne to Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, back in 2002. The deal was worth $10 million and a whole ton of stocks.

Rockstar certainly is no stranger to Max Payne either. Console ports of the original Max Payne to the PlayStation 2 was handled by the studio, along with development of Max Payne 2 for the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox.
