The End of All Things: Next Assassin’s Creed to be “Biggest to Date”
Ubisoft certainly likes to puff up their chests and say that the next installment of Assassin’s Creed will be the best one ever. Some might say each installment was better than the last, and there are those of us who think that Assassin’s Creed II is the best of the bunch.
Well, it looks like Ubisoft might be getting a bit of a hint. Since the final chapter of Ezio drawn to a close with Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the next Assassin’s Creed title will be featuring new lead characters. This is the first time we’ll be seeing anyone other than a dashing Italian man since 2009.
Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot thinks this Christmas will see the Order of Assassins’ return to glory, and he also thinks that yearly installments aren’t killing the series. We might beg to differ.
“Assassin’s Creed is an incredible franchise and there are a lot of expectations that it will continue to grow,” said Guillemot in an interview with MCV. “We are pleased with our continued success so far: in the U.S., Assassin’s Creed: Revelations was a Top Ten title for the entire calendar year, which shows that the demand is definitely there.
“We think that delivering regular installments and expanding the brand to other platforms will continue to satisfy the demand, while at the same time attracting new fans. And we’re confident that the next installment of Assassin’s Creed will be the biggest to date.”
Was Revelations a big enough disappointment to turn you off from the series forever? Or will you be back for some more stealthy rooftop parkouring in the next Assassin’s Creed?
