High Resolution Texture Pack Confirmed For Skyrim

The rumour mill churned out an actual truth a few days ago, when content was found in Skyrim’s registry files that suggested a forthcoming visual upgrade.

The patch, which includes the much-anticipated Steam Workshop creation kit, is now live on Steam and is a whopping 3GB in size. That’s an awful lot of textures, considering the original install was approximately 5.1GB.

To celebrate this, you can also find Skyrim with 33% off, as well as half priced copies of Morrowind and Oblivion GOTY editions on the Steam store. It’s certainly a wonderful day to be an Elder Scrolls fan.

The update also includes facilities which enable automatic updates for user-created mods. Expect a sudden influx of seriously high quality creations now that the official modding toolkit has arrived.
