Time to brace those nerves of steel out there sci-fi fans, because SEGA has unveiled the cover art for Aliens: Colonial Marines. The game is a spin off from the famous movies from 20th Century Fox and is being developed by Gearbox software.

The cover – which you can see to the left – features the iconic Xenomorph’s head with a scene of four marines walking down a very Aliens style corridor superimposed over it. We’re also given some information on the game game which you can read below.

Aliens: Colonial Marines begins with an ostensibly abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, recovered in orbit around LV-426. Players lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the deserted craft to uncover the fate of the crew. They will have to fight to survive unspeakable horrors and their own anxieties as they chase down the truth behind a galaxy-spanning deception that places humanity at the mercy of the most murderous and deadly species in the universe. Aliens: Colonial Marines features authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley’s Hope, weapons inspired by the film series and is designed to provide an exhilarating and engaging new chapter in the Aliens universe.

Sounds like Gearbox and SEGA have lined up an intense experience, so you best bring some reliable friends – and a spare pair of underwear perhaps – along with you when you play the game. Just remember – in space, no one can hear you scream . . .

Currently the game is due to ship sometime in Autumn 2012 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
