Binary Domain Goes Multiplayer

Binary Domain Goes Multiplayer

10 Feb, 2012

Binary Domain is a much hyped game which to be fair does look pretty rad from the wealth of cinematic trailers we’ve had so far. Well, you can’t exactly go cinematic when you go multiplayer. Gameplay looks pretty decent. We can see everything from handguns to miniguns, and the crosshairs are pretty futuristic looking, further inviting comparisons to Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

You’ll be able to play as the resistance or the government, in the city or the slums, and in various game modes. Of course there’s our old favourites: free-for-all and team deathmatch, but we also have a few ambiguous ones too. There’s demolition, data capture, domain control, team survival, operation, and invasion. It certainly looks interesting, whether it can launch a realistic attack against the Call of Duty machine or if it will fall by the wayside like Homefront and so many other pretenders remains to be seen. Either way Binary Domain looks like an interesting game. Though perhaps it might end up being one of those games with a good single player mode and a completely unnecessary multiplayer mode. We’ll see. For me I’m one of those people that wishes the mandatory multiplayer idea would die. I love playing online with friends, but I’ll prefer a great single player game to an alright multiplayer one. I suppose that’s just what the industry has become.
