The Case of the Possible Sequel: L.A. Noire May See Something More in the Future

14 Feb, 2012

We all heard about the issues surrounding Team Bondi, its bankruptcy, and abrupt liquidation of all its assets. Despite the successes of L.A. Noire, the 1960′s crime-thriller published by Rockstar Games, we still saw the shuttering of the Australia-based dev studio. However, its one-hit wonder won’t be following in its footsteps to doom. Rockstar Games said during its “Asked & Answered” feature that there may be a little something for us in the future.

It won’t be more DLC, since the studio is far too busy with its current projects. All the time they’ve got is being consumed with GTA V, Max Payne 3, and other projects, but Rockstar says that we shouldn’t “count out the possibility of a new game in the L.A. Noire franchise.”

“We simply have not decided anything,” said Rockstar Games. “We’re all very pleased with how that game turned out and are considering what the future may hold for L.A. Noire as a series. We dont’ always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won’t get to them eventually — see Max or Red Dead for evidence of that — we have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing.”

So don’t despair, noire-fans and crime-thriller buffs. While Rockstar Games’ got their plates full at the moment, that doesn’t mean this one’s about to bite the dust.
