Binary Domain Cutscene Trailer: “Slum Kids”

Binary Domain Cutscene Trailer: “Slum Kids”

In preparation for the release on the 24th February (Europe), the Binary Domain team have released a cutscene from the game as a new trailer. Bear in mind there are (very minor) spoilers in the trailer, which you can check out below.

Minor spoilers also follow. The trailer hints at the role of children in the dystopian future, and the difficulty that the soldiers face in Tokyo in discerning between human and cyborg. We also see the arms trade line for the resistance in its most gritty form. It’s a great idea to show us small ideas that we’ve not seen in other games before. It sets Binary Domain apart from all the other dystopian games, small details like children being put to work scavenging and robbing guns for the resistance give us a more detailed notion of the morality of this world. It’s always great to see game designers move away from the simple “government bad, resistance good” mentality, showing that both sides have their issues. The trailer also keeps you gripped in concern over whether these soldiers are going to be left with no other options than to get killed or to kill children.

See below for the trailer and visit the site for more information.

All About Dan Spicer ...

Dan does "What Dan Does", normally involving screwing over the premise of the game just to have fun. When he's not being obnoxious in video games he's doing the same when playing tabletop RPGs and Magic: The Gathering. He's currently studying philosophy in London, and trying to cook as many pancakes as humanly possible.
