Just mere days before the launch of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare and our intrepid author’s debut on Steam, Remedy is tossing another bone out to fans. There’s going to be a standard Collector’s Edition and a Limited Collector’s Edition, which means if you want the latter, you’ll have to kick that procrastination habit, otherwise you’ll end up kicking yourself later.
Both the Collector’s and Limited Collector’s edition will have some neat swag for fans, including in-game audio commentary and hints by Remedy, a 144 page book that compiles all the incidents surrounding Bright Falls, WA, and a game soundtrack. There’s also going to be some online tokens for some Xbox LIVE goodies including Avatar items, an Xbox Dashboard theme, and also a code to download the first Alan Wake DLC. Not bad, huh?
The Limited Collector’s edition is hardbound in linen, and is supposed to resemble a hardcover book. Diehard fans of Alan Wake better go for that one before they all run out. And what’s more, if you pre-order either Collector’s Edition, you’ll get the Bright Falls Bonus Pack, which will give you access to even more goodies on Xbox Live, including a “making of” video.
Sounds like a sweet deal? You bet it is. It might even be worth your while to pre-order it. No release date has been given for both Collector’s Editions, but we think it’ll be somewhere close to when American Nightmare launches. And don’t give up hope on a sequel yet either. Remedy says that they might have some plans for the future after American Nightmare.
