Mass Effect 3 Takes Being in Space a Bit Too Literally

Mass Effect 3 Takes Being in Space a Bit Too Literally

17 Feb, 2012

“YO DAWG! We heard you like Space in your Mass Effect 3, so we put Mass Effect 3 into Space, so when you play Mass Effect 3 and you are in Space, you will be playing a game that was in Space!”

Okay, terrible attempt at working an Internet Meme into this story, Electronic Arts and Bioware are getting ready to put together a marketing stunt that could be truly ingenious, or flop harder than THQ with their Homefront balloons in the San Francisco Bay. Sometime next week, Bioware is looking to send out early copies of Mass Effect 3 to random people. How random? How about attaching the games to weather balloons that have GPS tracking on them.

The idea is that fans can go to the official website and track these games and if one lands near their location, they can go and grab the game to play before anyone else. So, is having a game about space combat more important to you when it has actually gone to space? Keep an eye on the @masseffect twitter account to get more details next week.
