Whether we lose sleep debating over who is the most badass character in Prototype, Radical Entertainment head Ken Rosman doesn’t care. He just wanted to have an excuse to make a Collector’s Edition of Prototype 2. The “highly limited quantity” edition will launch in the United States on April 24th, but there’s no word on whether Europe will receive one as well.
“When we initially began discussing the idea of creating a collector’s edition for Prototype 2, we knew right off the bat that it would have to be something special for our most hardcore fans – the ones who finished the original game multiple times; those who constantly debate whether Mercer or Heller is the more badass character; the ones who are eagerly waiting to jump in feet first and experience all that Prototype 2 has to offer,” said Rosman of the collector’s edition.
So what’s going to be in it? For one, it’s going to include content available in the Radnet Edition, and that particular edition contains a one-time-use code for 55 pieces of additional content. The content ranges from extra mutations, to extra challenges, and gamers that are avid enough to participate in weekly challenges will be able to unlock “the ultimate shape-shifting reward.” The collector’s edition also will include the first DLC pack entitled “Colossal Mayhem,” the official soundtrack, a hardcover artbook, the digital comic “Prototype: The Labyrinth,” and a discount voucher at the Prototype store.
Of course, no epically outrageous collector’s edition is complete without its own announcement trailer. Activision and Radical Entertainment released one just for you, so check it out.
Prototype 2 is set for launch on April 24th in North America, and April 27th in Europe.
