We hope that Rovio doesn’t take the announcement too literally, otherwise they’d be launching copies into space. Or maybe they’d be launching iPads, iPods, and iPhones into space pre-loaded with Angry Birds Space.
Conquering the earthly realm just wasn’t enough for the Finnish developer, which announced on Friday that Angry Birds Space will be launching on March 22nd. While no specific platforms have been announced, VentureBeat said that we should be expecting “simultaneous launches in mobile gaming, animation, retail, and publishing.”
If you’re thinking this won’t be a big deal, Rovio is taking it quite seriously. According to the developer, the launch will be “the biggest game launch since the original Angry Birds.” And that was a pretty big launch.
New features that will be available in Angry Birds Space will include zero-grav physics, slow-mo and lightspeed destruction.
Well, you might be fending off the Reaper invasion, but those of us who have to sit and watch you hog the consoles and TV might just be fending off pigs. Who knows, we might just be on the next planet over.
