The Future of Halo: 343i Already has Plans for Halo 5, Halo 6
It’s almost like Star Wars, except we won’t have to deal with subpar acting of any kind. With the recent Xbox Spring Showcase earlier this month, we saw many great new details. Among them was the drool-worthy Halo 4, giving us peeks at Master Chief’s redesign and his triumphant return.
As if that wasn’t enough to satisfy the biggest Halo fans in this galaxy, 343 Industries said that they’ve got plans for future Halo installments.
“We have a definite story arc in mind,” said 343i’s Creative Director Josh Holmes in an interview with CVG. “We have a very, very clear vision and understanding of the story for Halo 4 obviously and as you go further out from that point into the saga it obviously becomes a little looser.”
While Holmes also confirmed that Halo 4 will be a continuation from Halo 3, he stopped short of revealing too much. Such a party pooper.
“Everything that we’ve created has been designed with constancy and tie-ins to the existing cannon,” said Holmes. “So all the historical cannon that comes before this game has been taken into account and connects in meaningful ways.
“And there’s been a lot of work that we’ve put in to building the franchise. Specifically, Frank O’Connor and the franchise team have been developing the fiction that surrounds the franchise and they’ve put a lot of effort into creating those tie-ins to the things that we’re building for Halo 4.
“That’s something that we’ve partnered together on for the last several years.”
Halo 4 is set to launch sometime in 2012 on Xbox 360. When that is, remains officially unknown. However, we’ve heard whispers that it might be November 20th, or thereabouts.
