Aerith’s Theme enjoys success in Classic FM Hall of Fame campaign

Remember the campaign to get Aerith’s Theme from Final Fantasy VII into the Classic FM Hall of Fame back in January? Then you’ll be pleased to hear that the piece by Nobuo Uematsu managed to reach an incredible sixteenth place, the second highest new entry in this year’s chart. Considering the competition it was up against that is a seriously impressive achievement.

More than 150,000 votes were cast in the classical music poll which saw another video game theme slip in at number 238 – Jeremy Soule’s theme to Skyrim.

Will we see even more video game music featured in the 2013 chart? I certainly hope so.
