Nintendo Virtual Console Update: The Game & Watch is back

A new week is beginning and once again Nintendo are bring us all an update to their eShops. This week we’ll be treated to a couple of retro games from the 80s and a puzzle game involving cats – how could you resist?

Firstly the Game and Watch Gallery 2 will be returning, last having appeared on the Gameboy Colour, collecting five different games from the classic handheld and the original Donkey Kong game. All these games will be playable as they were when they first released all those years ago and also in an updated form. Enhanced gameplay, sound and gameplay for these games has been added to offer two different experiences for all in the collection. The Game and Watch Gallery 2 – containing Parachute, Helmet, Chef, Vermin and Donkey Kong – will be available for £3.60/€4 from the eShop on 3DS.

Cat Frenzy from Teyon makes up the puzzle game of this weeks trio, tasking you with solving puzzles to free kittens trapped in a well. Over 100 levels full of puzzles will task you with sliding different kinds of kittens to match up and release them from the watery depths. You can save the kittens on the DS and 3DS by downloading it from the eShop for £1.80/€2/200 DSi Points. The second retro game this week comes from SEGA in the form of Super Hang-On – the sequel to the arcade game Hang-On that came to Europe back in 1987. You’ll be tasked with 48 different challenges across four continents to put your street bike skills to the test. You can pick this arcade racer up for 900 Nintendo points on the Wii.

All the above game – Game & Watch Gallery 2, Cat Frenzy and Super Hang-On – can be picked up this Thursday 3rd May in Europe.
