Live-Action Awesomeness: Microsoft Announces Halo 4 Webisodes
Can’t wait for Halo 4, can you? Microsoft wants to keep that anticipation high, and announced earlier this week that its going to be producing a live-action web series called “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.” During the course of the series, it will introduce a new character to the story and will also provide a plot tie-in to the game.
343 Industries commented on the project, saying that they don’t want this project to be seen as a money-making marketing scheme. “We wanted to do something unique from a narrative standpoint that’s big in scale,” said 343i’s Director of Franchise Business Management Frank McCloskey to Variety.
Each episode will run about 15 minutes long, and there’s a total of five episodes. “Forward Unto Dawn” will follow the story of a UNSC cadet who meets Master Chief during the early stages of the war between humanity and Covenant forces. The cadet uses Chief as inspiration, and rises through the ranks to eventually serve as an officer aboard the UNSC Infinity.
Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn will be airing on Machinima.com and Halo Waypoint in the months before the game launches November 6th. Better start bookmarking those pages if you haven’t already.
As if to further tease us, Microsoft released an image of Master Chief as he appears in the web series. Check it out:
