Keiji Inafune and…Soul Sacrifice?

Keiji Inafune and…Soul Sacrifice?

Do you remember that intriguing tease for a PS Vita title called Soul Sacrifice? With a formal reveal scheduled to be here a mere day or two from now, Japanese blog Andriasang is now reporting that none other than legendary Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune is involved with this mysterious game. What his role is at this time is entirely unknown, but we just know he’s got his hands in this title.

According to a translation of Famitsu (via Andriasang), the developing studio is confirmed to be Marvelous AQL, who brought us Rune Factory 4 and Harvest Moon: The Land of Origin.

In a very brief and very interesting trailer released today (via IGN), we’re shown just a glimpse of the combat system of Soul Sacrifice, and we also catch the logo of Studio Japan, an internal developer for Sony. Studio Japan’s resume is rather impressive, working mostly as an advisory producer for Team ICO, Team Siren, Level-5, and…yes, the now infamous From Software.

There’s a question we wanted to ask about the trailer, but perhaps you should see it first:

…now, doesn’t that font look eerily familiar? And doesn’t the dark flavor of it too? We just might see a lot of PS Vitas get flung out windows or cars then. Maybe we’re just seeing things and reading into it way too much.

An official announcement regarding Soul Sacrifice is scheduled for May 10th. Be strong and stay alive until then, won’t you?
