That Damn Rumor Mill: Dead Space 3 a Step Closer to Reality

It’s hard to not keep from bouncing in anticipation. In a countdown written in Dead Space‘s fictional Unitology language, the official Dead Space website seems to be telling us we need to wait for a big reveal on June 4th, the date of EA’s pre-E3 conerence. Will it be an official unveiling of Dead Space 3? Thanks to an intriguing screenshot found by VG 247, it seems to be the case.

Sporting a decisive Dead Space 3 logo and perhaps a first screenshot of the game, rumors of the icy setting of Tau Volantis look to be true. There’s also word upon some lips that Game Informer will be making a reveal for the highly anticipated title tomorrow.

That 3 looks pretty convincing, we must say:

Details of Isaac’s next adventure began surfacing back in September. An article posted by Siliconera claimed to have gotten wind of some details of Dead Space 3‘s plot, including the icy change of scenery, possible new enemies called “the Hive Mind,” and trying to escape an arrest warrant. Guess Isaac couldn’t contain his awesome alter-ego split personality, dubbed “Shadow Isaac.” Maybe we’ll get some mind-shattering epiphanies during gameplay.

Earlier this month, an investor call from EA said that a reveal of another Dead Space installment will be finished and launched before March 31, 2013, which marks the end of their fiscal year.

Perhaps we’re reading far too much into the scant details, but at the same time we can’t help but be excited about one of the best scare-fests that has been released this generation.
