Everyone Wants to See Baird and the Train in Gears of War: Judgment

The cat was sort of out of the bag yesterday, but Game Informer magazine has officially revealed more details on the newest Gears of War game. Titled Gears of War: Judgment, we’re starting to think that this will be more of a prequel title that tells us the extended story of how Marcus Fenix ended up in the slammer.

That’s what we’re guessing anyway. Cover images for the magazine show Baird and Cole chained up and being marched off to prison. In the beginning of Gears of War, Dominic (sniffle) liberates Marcus from a similar situation.

“The new installment in Epic’s million-dollar franchise is Gears of War: Judgment,” reads a blurb from Game Informer (via Kotaku). “The July cover of Game Informer shows mainstay Damon Baird shackled as the Locust hordes rage around him. Augustus “Cole Train” Cole, soldier and world-famous Thrashball player, dons our second cover image in the same precarious situation.”

Earlier today, Epic Games president Mike Capps confirmed that Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly will be working on the title.

“Do I detect People Can Fly involvement? YES YES YES!” said Capps in his Twitter feed after a question was posed to Bulletstorm creative director Adrian Chmielarz.

Well, if that’s the case, we might hear absurd expletives and statements along the lines of killing someone’s private parts in gruesome ways. We certainly wouldn’t put it past Baird’s sense of humor anyway.

Maybe we’ll hear more about Judgment at E3. For now, we’re just wondering how things are going to pan out for Baird and Cole.
