E3 2012: Mirror of Fate Screens Show Off Trevor Belmont

While Lords of Shadow 2 will no doubt wow us on consoles, the companion to both Lords of Shadow titles, Mirror of Fate, is going to wow us on Nintendo’s 3DS system. Featuring Trevor Belmont, the son of Gabriel Belmont, both Konami and Mercurysteam are going to take us on a narrative ride.

According to the debut trailer for Mirror of Fate, the story will be following the story of Trevor Belmont, who is given a piece of an item called the Mirror of Fate. He already knows what will become of Gabriel, and sets off to confront his now-undead father in his castle. Following logic and some recent news regarding who is playable, we can all assume that Trevor has a connection to Alucard (or you know, even IS), the fan-favorite son of the good Count.

Besides Alucard and Trevor, there will be two additional playable characters. Each will have their own respective movesets and characteristics, so there’s no doubt that diehard Castlevania fans will be sinking their teeth into the handheld title.

Konami has released a batch of screens straight out of E3 detailing some gameplay and other elements in Mirror of Fate. We catch a glimpse of Trevor’s whip in action, an executioner style creature, staple baddies like Skeletons, and a few different levels.

Take a gander at these lovely screens:

Excited? We definitely are. If you’re a Castlevania fan, we hope you are too. Otherwise we’ll assume that you have no pulse.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate will be releasing sometime during the fall season, according to creative director Dave Cox.
