New Screenshot from PlayDead’s Upcoming Project Appears
Did you like Limbo? You know, that one creepy black and white side-scrolling puzzler that featured a boy chasing after his sister? It won numerous acclaim for its artistic design, its devilish puzzles, and how different it was from everything that was around at the time. PlayDead, the studio behind Limbo, hinted at making another title, and today the first screenshot and a short description from their mysterious project has been found wandering around.
As of right now, no name other than “Project 2″ has been applied to the work in progress. Through a translated list of grant recipients from the Danish government, “Project 2″ is said to be a “puzzle platform/adventure.” It will be released across the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Mac.
The game’s current description (translated by Kotaku) says that “Project 2″ will be about a boy “[struggling] against evil forces trying to take over the world through questionable experiments on human bodies.” It doesn’t sound like Cerberus is anywhere nearby, but maybe it’s a subsidiary? We jest.
No release date or window has been discussed at this point, but when PlayDead first talked about their next project way back in October 2011, studio co-founder Dino Patti noted that their next project would be “more 3D than you would think,” and that it would also be “more weird [than Limbo] in many ways.”
