Hideo Kojima Outs Metal Gear Solid 5
If you thought the end of Metal Gear Solid came with Guns of the Patriots, then Hideo Kojima just set the record straight. In an interview with IG Magazine, the famed video game creator said that there’s going to be a hell of a lot of espionage and a return to what Guns of the Patriots brought.
“About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be more infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to do you ‘a favor’ like in the last Metal Gear Solid,” said Kojima. “I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
“Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never pretended to be Metal Gear Solid. It’s not a game about our beloved Solid Snake. It’s a spin-off that tries something differnt. We haven’t seen the last of Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”
Every so often, Kojima likes to remind us that he really wants to stop making Metal Gear Solid games, but then again fans have probably said a lot about that subject matter. Little else has been revealed about MGS 5, except that it will run on Kojima Productions’ new FOX Engine.
