Irritating Tekken Fans Smacked Down by Producer
The constant voice actor requests from fans eagerly awaiting Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are clearly getting to Katsuhiro Harada (the game’s producer) as he lashed out at the bothersome masses with an enormous rant, ending with the rather surly “Thanks for understanding or not understanding. Whatever.” His gripes are numerous and you can read them in full after the jump at the end of the page, but for highlights stick around: firstly, we don’t know what voice actors did precisely what voices. Lots of characters have been voiced by different actors over different, and even within the same, games. Secondly, not all the actors and studios want to work again. Thirdly, there’s a whole load of technical stuff to do with advancements in sound, so data files can’t be directly transferred without sticking out like a sore thumb.
I support Harada here, us fans can be annoying at times, but I do have to wonder whether he’s met the internet before. I mean this is what things like Twitter are: bothering machines. If you don’t want to get bothered all the time then don’t read things on the internet, or better yet, don’t be on Twitter. Either way, though I love Tekken, it’s not that big a deal if the noises are different. Just like it doesn’t bother me that Ryu’s “Hadouken” is different now.
