Is Final Fantasy VII Coming to PC?
Bear in mind we all might be suckered in by a terrible and cruel prank here, but a pretty genuine looking website has popped up saying Final Fantasy VII on PC is “Coming Soon”. Obviously the game is a highlight of the series, so dedicated fans and newbies to Final Fantasy will be chomping at the bit to get hold of this on their laptops and make their commutes immeasurably better. The system requirements are paltry, so whoever you are you should be able to join in the retro fun. They’re also boasting cloud saves and achievements amongst the new online features.
As vague as “Coming Soon” is, you’ll hopefully be able to pick this up from the Square Enix store provided you’ve got a PC with XP,Vista, or Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit), a 2GHz Processor, 1GB RAM, and a DirectX 9 compatible graphics card. Who doesn’t have those things right? Let’s get our retro RPG on.

A keen observer a few months back noticed an Apps entry in the Steam registry for both Final Fantasy VII and VIII. It would make sense as Square is tied into the SteamCloud system with most of their games, and those were the only two to come to the PC.
I still have a sealed box copy of Final Fantasy VII on PC. Someone gave me an extra copy when it came out, as he received it as a gift and hated Final Fantasy. Just waiting to see how much it can be worth over time.
