PS3 Super Slim On Its Way?

The United States FCC have recently received documents from Sony detailing plans to release a new model of the PlayStation 3. The documents fuel speculation of a Super Slim model which follows from E3 after Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida was asked about the prospects of such a release. He replied “We should never say never. Hardware guys are always looking at ways to make things cheaper, smaller”.

You can check out the rather bland outline of the new model below, but it’s always good news when companies look at ways to make their products more energy efficient and affordable. Hopefully the decreased power consumption is something that would go along with a new slimmer model. Perhaps an official announcement will come soon: maybe Gamescom?
