What-We’re-Playing-Wednesday (05/07/12)

Hello everyone! As you are aware, I am not your normal host for What We’re Playing Wednesday, but our fearless leader Vikki is doing important work behind the scenes this week, so I will be guiding you on this journey into the psyche of what the writers are playing this week. It is an interesting week for us, keeping busy with all sorts of fun gaming (or not so fun if you read some of the reviews), but we are playing a lot of stuff.

Dan

  • Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 (PS3) – Step away from the console Dan

Ben

  • Blacklight: Retribution (PC) – Alright, this game is the most fun I’ve had shooting people online in quite a while.
  • Diablo III (PC) – Slow but steady progress on my Wizard. They’re a total faceroll!
  • Path of Exile Closed Beta (PC) – This game is in many ways what I thought Diablo 3 would be. Ridiculously polished even in its beta state.

Joe

  • Jeremy McGrath Offroad (PSN) – Fun little racing title, when played in short bursts.
  • Mini Ninjas Adventures (XBLA) – Got this in for review. Think arm waving, leg kicking kinect title and you have the general idea.
  • Bioshock 2 (PC) – Big props to 2K for bringing Minerva’s Den DLC to PC. It was a fantastic piece of content.
  • Syndicate (360) – Got it in for rental from Gamefly and after an hour, I realized it was a game I had no desire to play.

Aarron

  • Mass Effect 3 (X360) – Still working on getting to the ending but distracted scanning everything!
  • Angry Birds (WP7) – Still working on the Smash Maniac achievement, I will get it eventually
  • Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS3) – one of my favourite PS2 games, saw the trilogy on sale and had to get it

Tabs

  • ESV: Skyrim (X360) – Being large and hairy at night, and shouting at people. It’s a wonderful world.

What do you have on tap for this week on your console or gaming device dujour? Let us know in the comments. Or just tell us that our games suck. Either way, we always like to hear from you, the readers.

All About Joseph Haygood ...

When not writing news and reviews for GGS Gamer, or hosting the truly terrible You Like the Worst Stuff podcast, I am actively seeking an on-call arch-nemesis.
