Angry Birds Gets a Retail Box for Consoles

Angry Birds Gets a Retail Box for Consoles

It is almost impossible to escape the proliferation of Angry Birds. I mean, these games have been brought to just about every gaming platform out on the market, and merchandised to just about anything you can think of on a store shelf. But one place we have not yet seen the Angry Birds is on the home consoles.

Sure, there was a Mini released on PSN that could technically be played on your PlayStation 3, but do you really think that was a huge success? This new Angry Birds Trilogy boxed set is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS, and looks to leverage the strengths of each platform, creating three distinctly different experiences.

Angry Birds Trilogy captures the three core titles from the mobile platforms: Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Space. Along with those three titles, you will get specific motion controls for each platform, so you can use Kinect on 360, or Move on PS3 and yes, touch controls on the 3DS. It looks like you can use the controller as well, as the Xbox 360 cover states, “Better with the Kinect Sensor”, but I am thinking motion control is optional on PS3 and Xbox 360 if only to broaden the audience of the game when it hits retail.

So far, we have no date beyond a release in the holiday 2012 time frame, but we do have box art and some screens from the release to whet your appetite below. Look for more on Angry Birds Trilogy as soon as we get it in the old email hopper.
