Get Set for Mobile Jet Set

Get Set for Mobile Jet Set

It’s Jet Grind Radio where I’m from, bub. Call it what you will, but the fact remains that the Dreamcast classic is being remade in vivid HD, for a host of modern platforms.

Sega of America and Sega Europe have announced that, in addition to XBLA, PSN, Vita and Windows PC Digital Download, the graffiti-spraying goodness will also be available on your iOS and Android devices!

Jet Set Radio for iOS and Android includes the same slick gameplay, genre-blending soundtrack, and pioneering art style as the other versions alongside new features like OpenFeint and Retina display support and the awesome ability to use pictures taken with your phone or tablet’s camera as in-game graffiti! Traverse Shibuya terminal on the train, silence the Love Shockers on your lunch break, blast through Benten-cho while boarding a bus and upload achievements to Facebook while riding a ferry; Jet Set Radio will be a dream come true for portable gamers everywhere!

Set for release “this summer.” So, be ready to grind at a moment’s notice. Jetting and setting are imminent.

I loved my Dreamcast. (Yeah, I’m one of those.) Saying that any game stands out among so many unique, innovative titles available for Sega’s short-lived but much-loved final console is high praise; Jet Grind/Set Radio absolutely does.

Though I’m still partial to Seaman. Where’s my remake, guys? Wouldn’t that be great on the 3DS? Big ol’ ugly fishman popping out at you, maybe some fresh dialogue, easy stylus controls…

…just saying, “Fuzzy.”

Everyone buy Jet Grind/Set Radio so they’ll do more Dreamcast makeover projects, okay? (Also because it’s a great game, of course.)

  1. Never played a Jet Set, always wanted to. Looking forward to this.

  2. I think you’ll dig it, Fourhman. It’ll be interesting to revisit now. The HD facelift will certainly help. That Dreamcast stuff likely looks pretty balls by today’s standards.

A fun game. de Blob reminded me of it – in a good way.
