God of War and inFamous Collections are Ready to Wreck You
If you thought your summer needed a little more angry, shouting, demi-gods and some destructive living Tesla-coils, then Sony’s recent announcement will make you oh so very happy. Well, for those of us living in the U.S., at any rate.
Sony has announced that the God of War and inFamous HD collections will become available quite soon in the United States, and will be going for about $29.99 apiece. Whether this offer extends to Canada as well is currently not known, but both HD collections are expected to hit retail on August 28th.
Titled God of War Saga, the collection that features everybody’s favorite Spartan ghost will include the following:
- God of War
- God of War 2
- God of War 3
- God of War: Origins Collection, which will contain God of War: Chains of Olympus, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- Bonus Content
- A voucher for one free trial month of PlayStation Plus
All of the games have been remastered for HD and the PlayStation 3 controllers. There will also be plenty of trophies to be had. God of War 3 and the God of War: Origins Collection will support 3D.
inFamous doesn’t sport quite as many goodies, but for fans of Cole McGrath and his living-lightning-rod-powers, the collection will include the following:
- inFamous
- inFamous 2
- inFamous: Festival of Blood
- Extra missions
Both of these collections will also be launching alongside the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection, which Sony had announced earlier. If you already have a previous copy of the God of War or inFamous games in the collections, Sony says not to worry: select titles will be available for download without all the bells and whistles on the PlayStation Store.
Don’t expect the HD bandwagon to stop right here. Sony has teased more will be on the way in their latest blog entry. Looks like this fall will be the best gaming season ever. Well, only if you’ve got the money to toss around.
