Fallout 3 Mod Turns 2008 Graphics Into Next-Gen Looker
We don’t usually stop and gape at mods, except when they’re just too hilarious to pass up. However, this particular mod caught the attention of our psychotic caffeine-deprived news editor this dreary Wednesday morning.
Fallout 3 wasn’t a spectacularly gorgeous game. Well okay, it sort of was for its time, but all in all, the barren landscape of the Capital Wasteland was nothing that you’d stop and admire. It’s not like there were gorgeous Aurora Borealis in the skies before a dragon came swooping down to eat you. The Dragonborn is, after all, quite crunchy and tastes good with ketchup.
With a bit of tweaking and some really hard work, one particular player modded Fallout 3 so much that it seriously looks like it belongs on a next-gen console. For real. Found on Anthemios’ Flickr account, the screenshots posted of the modded efforts look absolutely stunning.
Using the ENB Series mod, and some know how, maybe you could get the same results too. The mod isn’t just for Fallout 3 either — other variants go from GTA IV all the way to the recently-released Skyrim. Other mods were layered on top of each other to create the desired effects, and there’s also some for new character models.
