Dream Team 1992 vs Dream Team 2012 in NBA 2K13

The 1992 USA Basketball Dream Team was a sight to behold during the Barcelona Olympics. This was the first year that the US used pro basketball athletes in the Olympic Basketball competition and it was probably the greatest team to ever be assembled in any sport. From the top to the bottom of the roster, it was an amazing display of talent on the world stage. One should note that 11 players from the 1992 Dream Team made it to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Fast forward to 2012 and we have what some are calling the Next Dream Team with the 2012 USA Basketball team. Featuring cover athletes Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin, the 2012 USA team scored a gold medal victory and comparisons started to emerge between the two teams as to who was better.

Enter Jay Z and NBA 2K13, as the production team has secured a deal with USA Basketball to include both the 2012 and 1992 Olympic Basketball teams so fans can pit the two against one another to see which team is superior. I am just going to throw my two cents in on this one and say that the 1992 team is the better of the two. So, it appears that NBA 2K13 will be the closest we will come to comparing these two teams in an Apples to Apples comparison.

NBA 2K13 is set to arrive on October 2nd, 2012 from 2K Sports on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii and Sony PSP.
