What-We’re-Playing-Wednesday (22/08/12)

Yup, it’s that time again!

Each week we update you on what games have been getting quality time on the consoles, PCs and handhelds of our lovely GGSGamer.com staff. Here’s what we’ve been playing this week … Well. Some of us. Is everyone on their holidays?!

Aarron

• Mass Effect 3 (360) – My addiction to the multiplayer continues
• Frogger Hyper Arcade Edition (XBLA) – Frogger never really changes, multiplayer is kind of cool though

Tabs

• Darksiders II (X360) – I can’t stop. I can’t. Must. Reap. More.
• Infinity Blade II (iPad) – It’s the game that never ends! AND IT DOESN’T NEED TO.
• Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) – I can’t let Master Quest beat me. Seriously.

Vikki

• Portal 2 (X360) – been hankering for this ever since I picked up an inflatable turrent at Gamescom …
• Max Payne 3 (X360) – apparently, I now suck at the multiplayer. Well. It had to happen eventually. Sob.
• Brave (X360) – better than you might think, actually!

Joe

• Darksiders II (PC) – While I enjoy the game, playing on the PC has been a bit of a letdown with some poor coding issues.
• Sleeping Dogs (PC) – A game that went through as much development drama as this title, should not be this fun to play. You owe it to yourself to visit Hong Kong..
• Symphony (PC) – Fun game to play, but man does this game seem to want to cause seizures..
• Unmechanical (PC) – A cute little puzzler that is a joy to play, even if it is a bit short.

Tony

• New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS) – I was on the fence about this one for a while. Another New Mario again, so soon? But so far, it’s a good time. Love the Running Game genre infusion, it adds something fresh.
• Toybox (iPhone) – Simultaneously play a space shooter and a color-match puzzle game. Seriously. Both at once. Rack up points for global leaderboard, unlock achievements. Can your brain walk and chew gum at the same time?
• Yoga Retreat (Facebook) – My yoga resort is pretty badass. I have a juice bar. Just sayin’. So far…lots of clicking, some of shopping/renovation, and that ol’ paywall.
• Mario Kart 7 (3DS) – Just a little, here and there…but my 4 year-old has been improving. Winning trophies & unlocking new vehicles. So proud!
• Wii Fit Plus (Wii) – Another one I played over the weekend w/ the fam. Had to replace my Balance Board batteries, grumble. Love the snowball fight!
