Assassins Off The Port Bow! – Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag Is Officially Official
Raise the main sails ye scurvy dogs, and prepare to chart the open waters of the Caribbean. Set in 1715, you’ll assume the role of Edward Kenway during the height of pirate control in the region – being a lawless brotherhood, corruption and greed will be writhe among the inhabitants. If you hadn’t already guessed, our main character will be trained in the way of the Assassin, as well as being the pirate captain of his very own ship. During the Golden Age of Piracy he’s found legendary status among the other pirates, including Blackbeard and Calico Jack, but will now be faced with the Templars as part of the two factions ancient war.
The most diverse world of all the Assassins Creed games has been promised in this outing spanning 50 unique locations – including dense jungles filled with rare animals, thriving cities, lost ruins, hidden coves, and even underwater shipwrecks for you to plunder until your heart’s content. All this will be available while you sail the seas aboard the Jackdaw, upgrading her as you go all in the pursuit of riches, and of course taking on other ships to assert your power in this winner take all world. It’s not all sailing though, as Edward Kenway does come tooled up to the teeth as you’d might expect from the Assassins by now. The signature hidden blade returns once more, along with four flintlock pistols, and new weaponry such as his dual cutlass swords for when you got drawn into close quarters combat. Below you can check out a whole bunch of screenshots & concept art for Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, alongside some detailed shots of Mr Kenway and his possible associate Blackbeard. If you prefer to get your content in fewer clicks, then there’s also a trailer at the top of the page for you to enjoy.
Falling in line with the rather regular release schedule Assassins Creed has become known for in recent years, Black Flag is set to call into port on October 31st 2013. You’ll be able to take to the high seas on your Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and for those adopting next-gen early, the PS4.
