What-We’re-Playing-Wednesday (10/07/13)

Yup, it’s that time again!

Each week we update you on what games have been getting quality time on the consoles, PCs and handhelds of our lovely staff.

Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …

  • Left 4 Dead 2 (PC) – Picked it up cheap, and some of the mods are great. Got myself a Halo Gravity Hammer
  • Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS) – I now have a Triforce. That is all
  • Mass Effect 3 (360) – Still love this multiplayer, but after some time off it I am pretty rusty

  • Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC (360) – It was on sale for half price and completes my DLC collection. So far, it is a bit ho-hum
  • Bioshock Infinite (360) – Still tooling along in this one from time to time. I will finish it some day.
  • The Last of Us (PS3) – I like the story and I like the characters. I am just not a huge fan of the combat against the infected.
  • Deadpool (PC) – Just about finished this one up. The game gets the character and it is super funny, but the combat it repetitive.
  • Company of Heroes 2 (PC) – The game is great, but the single player campaign feels like it could have been a few hours shorter.

  • DmC: Devil May Cry (360) – Pwning devils in the reboot of the Capcom franchise. Really enjoying it so far.
  • Dark Matter (PC) – Classic Metroid gameplay meets Dead Space sci-fi horror tension in this interesting blend of genres.
  • Super Wagon Adventure (PC) – Insane, arcade fun depicting a very different version of Old West history.
  • Urban Trial Freestyle (3DS) – Never would have tipped myself as a fan of the dirt bike stunt genre but this game has won me over.

  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS) – Yep. Yeeeep.
  • Garfield’s Wild Ride (iOS) – It’s Jetpack Joyride with Garfield. Review coming.
  • New Super Luigi U (Wii U) – Still toying with Challenge Mode levels and multiplayer with my son as Nabbit. Full review coming.
  • Strip ‘Em All (Online) – Look this one up. An interesting psychological puzzle game in which you rearrange and otherwise mess with the content in comic strip panels to reveal the dark truths about characters. Free. Neat.

  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS) – I’ll admit that I’m starting to feel a little bored – I’m definitely in a rut, townspeople – but I’m still enjoying skipping around VixVille!

So this is what’s been keeping us busy this week. How about you, eh? Tell us all about it – in the comments, on Twitter, or on Facebook!

  1. I see we’ve gone with the surname only approach. Awesome. Haygood and I are now like Shepard from Mass Effect.
