GOTY Edition Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Out November 14

GOTY Edition Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Out November 14

There’s a lot of hype around Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I’ve heard it’s great and far worth the effort for a subscription based MMO from more people than I can care to count, however I’ve never taken the plunge myself.

Of course I have Steven’s excellent saga of reviews to thankfully mull over. If you haven’t caught them yet, here’s Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

From what I understand you can buy the PS3 version, play for a month and upgrade to the PS4 version at no additional cost as long as you act before the year’s end. I’m no FF expert so don’t quote me on that but I’m preeeetty sure that’s still in play.

Well, if you’re anything like me and still very much on the fence, Square-Enix have made another drive for our affections in the shape of a primo special ‘Game Of The Year’ edition.

So that brings us to today’s announcement of FFXIV goodness. A Limited “Game of the Year” edition of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released on November 14.

The “Game of the Year” edition comes in a high quality, printed “Book of Diamonds” Grimoire box, contains 5 exclusive art cards and includes 30 days of playtime, as well as a digital timecard for an additional 60 free days of adventure in the realms of Eorzea, In total, 90 days of playtime to experience all of the high level content this MMO offers.

Players will have access to the main game as well as the content of all the updates “A Realm Awoken”, “Through the Maelstrom”, “Defenders of Eorzea”, and the latest update “Dreams of Ice”, scheduled for release later this month.

These updates boast an expanded story and a multitude of new in-game features: two action-packed PvP modes, numerous unique races and classes, a multi-layered crafting system, housing, Chocobo raising, monster hunting, and countless dungeons, monsters, raids and challenging boss fights in the fascinating world of FINAL FANTASY!

For those that haven’t played FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn yet, check out the free trial version for PC which you can download here: This version comes with 14 days free playtime and allows for character development until level 20.

Hmm, I may have to make good on that 14 day trial. Are you playing FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn or still deciding whether to take the plunge? Has the GOTY edition swayed you? We’d love to hear from you! Why not let us know what you think on twitter or in the comments below!
