Early on in today’s Xbox briefing at this year’s E3, Microsoft dropped quite the bombshell for their own console.

Starting now for Preview members and coming fully in the Autumn for everyone else, Xbox 360 games will be backwards compatible on the Xbox One.

This will work with both digital and physical titles, with digital titles automatically appearing in your game library as soon as they’re ready for XB1-shaped consumption. Physical discs will work by simply popping the disc in.

Interestingly, the full bells and whistles that we know and love with the current generation will still work on the old 360 games. This means that screenshots, broadcasting and game DVR will all work on the older titles.

Time to dust off those old 360 games and fire them back up! Looking for something a bit weird and wacky to start you off?
