Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Reckoning will be coming to the Xbox One and 360 on 4 August. It will be coming to other platforms at a later date. This final DLC pack will include four new maps set in a range of locales. There’s:

  • “Overload”: Set in an ”exotic” compound with a view of downtown New Baghdad, this map will feature fountains, gardens and decorative plasma lamps. (No word yet on what other modern amenities this property features and whether there are any good schools nearby). The map has multiple levels and has long perimeter site-lines that should lend it to medium and long-range combat.
  • “Quarantine”: Set in a biological testing centre on an island, after the outbreak of a lethal virus. Should feature plenty of corners as well as open areas to allow for varied game-styles and approaches. If you activate the map-based scorestream then you can let off a ship-fired missile strike. That should be a blast.
  • “Fracture”: Based in an Arctic excavation site that lies on a glacier. There will be a timed event that cracks said glacier, sending players who aren’t the right side of the split to their icy graves.
  • “Swarm”: This one’s in an underway that’s being reconstructed in Seoul, South Korea. It’s a small to medium sized map with plenty of opportunities to take cover and flank enemies.

If you’d like to actually see what they look like in practice, you’d best have a look at this:

Reckoning will also see the return of the Exo Grapple mechanic. A mechanic I’m sure we all know and love because it, ”delivers more fast-paced multiplayer combat than ever before”.

This DLC pack will put an end the Exo Zombies plot from last episode, Descent. In Descent, John Malkovich turned out to be a zombie… so I’m sure it’ll be interesting to see what comes next.
