Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the opening of the World Tournament mode for Dragon Ball Xenoverse. World Tournament is an official in-game mode in which players can fight against each other online to determine who is the ultimate player. The winner will be crowned World Champion.

Aside from the nifty title, champions will receive all seven dragon balls as well as a badge on their profiles so they can show other players how awesome they are. Also, according to the game’s website, Bandai Namco will be featuring the winners’ avatars in themes and backgrounds on PlayStation consoles.

There’s already a Beta Tournament running worldwide, available on all platforms. It’s been running since August 18 (16:00 CET) and will continue till August 23 (15:59 CET).

The Tournament will run across all platforms on August 25 (16:00 CET) to August 30 (15:59 CET). The winners of the tournament will go to the finals. The finals will be held on September 12, 13:00 CET to 15:30 CET.

The finals will involve the four best fighters competing head to head and the matches will all be uploaded to YouTube.
