Io-Interactive revealed new details for the upcoming Hitman game which is set to release on March 11th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The developer announced that the game is now a truly episodic AAA game experience, with a major live component.

The game will first release a Prologue mission and a contract in Paris on March 11th, while the next location, Italy, will release in April and then followed by Morocco in May. Io Interactive will release monthly content updates and three additional locations: Thailand, USA and Japan which will conclude the new content in 2016. Additionally, expect weekly live events and new content in between the monthly updates.

We decided to take the full leap and publish Hitman as a truly episodic game experience,” said Hannes Seifert, Head of Studio at Io-Interactive. “Part of that decision is for that little bit of extra time to ensure every location we release is at the quality level fitting for a HITMAN game. But the main driving reason is that this will allow us to create a living game that will expand and evolve over time and establish a foundation for the future – this is the first game in a storyline which will continue and expand with future Hitman games.

The Intro Pack includes the Prologue and Paris levels for $15 with each subsequent location will be $10. Or alternatively, players can buy the full game digitally up front for $60 which insures players to get the full experience. For those who prefer owning a physical version of the game, Io confirm that the disc version will release at the end of 2016.

For those who want to give the new Hitman a shot, there’s a beta kicking off on PS4 on February 12th and on the 19th on PC exclusively. Those who pre-order either the Intro pack or the full game are guaranteed beta access.

PS4 user will receive exclusive content: The Sarajevo Six featuring 6 additional contracts where agent 47 has to track six former members of a paramilitary unit called CICADA.
