In a tweet, the Doom developers said that their campaign is significantly longer than is now standard for a first person shooter:

Of course, whether this is definitely a good thing is very much dependent upon your personal taste, whether the game turns out to be good and how they use the time they have. Still, when has optimism hurt anyone?
