Norway is joining the map in Sid Meier’s Civilization 6, and Firaxis Games has revealed its leader as the last Great Viking King Harald Hardrada.

Hardrada was a highly skilled warrior known as “Devastator of the Bulgarians”, but his reign wasn’t always an aggressive one. Norway saw peace and progress under his strong rule with advances in currency, trade, and religion. He fell during an attempt to take England’s throne in the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066.

Here’s a look at your new king and other features of the Norwegian civilization:

It appears Norway will live up to its seafaring history with Viking longships and early access to deep water exploration. Harald’s Thunderbolt of the North ability allows his melee units to execute coastal raids while his longships can heal in neutral territory.

The naval-focused nation also packs a punch on land with its Berserkers, unique units that can pillage for one less movement. They get an attack bonus but are vulnerable when defending. For its unique building, Norway boasts the lovely stave church, which has all the advantages of a temple plus a faith adjacency bonus from woods.

You’ll be able to lead your nation to victory on October 21.
