Welcome to another One Hour Tour! After completing the first Dead Island a few weeks back (for which you can check out a One Hour Tour right here), I’ve decided to jump into the sequel and clear that one out of my backlog. With so many games coming out in the foreseeable future, clearing some games from the backlog is always a good thing.
Nevertheless, this part is about an hour into the game. While I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the first Dead Island game, Riptide feels rushed and half assed. Navigation is worst that it’s predecessor. While it’s pretty neat that it acts as directly, it could’ve used a bit more polished and development time. It is a bit harder than its predecessor as well. While the first game eased you into combat, this one throws players directly into hell. Needless to say, I died a few times.
