Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.

Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …

Dan

  • Amplitude (PS4) – I got hooked again while waiting for Friday the 13th to be updated. I’m now trying to clear as many tracks as possible on Advanced. Force Quit is definitely of the most fun tracks to play on that difficulty.
  • Friday the 13th (PS4/XB1) – The addiction is real and here to stay. I need my daily dose of rounds.
  • Grand Theft Auto 5 – I’m still hooked. It’s like crack. The story, the characters, the city; everything. If you haven’t played it yet, I definitely recommend it.

Viki

  • Doki Doki Literature Club (PC) – Where we have poetry and lots and lots of fun together! Hahahahahaha… (please help me)

Jay

  • Final Fantasy 9 (PS4) – I have finally earned the platinum trophy after 15 hours of grinding the 10,000 kills trophy, I discovered that the YouTube Red show, Good Game starring the Game Grumps is hilarious and that everyone should watch it.
  • The Evil Within 2 (PS4) – Over the weekend, I experienced the latest horrors that could be experienced within STEM. It’s not overly terrifying but after PT everything struggles to scare me as much as before… Damn you, Konami!
  • Overwatch (PC) – Gotta get them Halloween Skins!

Jacob

  • Middle Earth: Shadow of War (PS4) – I know this game has been marred in the news recently by the whole pay to win microtransactions allegations. Sadly this is kind of true. Although on the whole of it Shadow of War is a great game and worthy sequel to Shadow of Mordor, the game requires such a ridiculous grind to win that I can imagine people turning to the loot boxes out if desperation.

Sarah

  • Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age (PS4) – Still working towards the platinum. Just need to set a couple of hours aside to down Yiazmat (over 50 million HP), finish the story and complete the trials…
  • Shadow Hearts (PS2) – The atmosphere of Tokyo Dark really reminded me of Shadow Hearts (one of my favourite games of ALL TIME) so I decided to dust off the PS2 and reacquaint myself with Yuri and pals.
  • World of Warcraft (PC) – I’ve been sitting around in Dalaran, recruiting for the guild – basically meaning I’ve been going AFK whilst playing Final Fantasy 12. Shh.

Stewart

  • Battle Chasers: Nightwar (XB1) – Have been reliving my old-school JRPG memories in this modern take on the genre. Already put in over 40 hours and still playing so it can’t be that bad.

How about you?
