Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.

Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …

Vikki

  • Bridge Constructor Portal (PC) – [CRITICAL ERROR: CANNOT DISCUSS BEFORE EMBARGO]
  • Destiny 2 (PS4) – Yep, still playing it. Nope, still don’t have a raid team. Yep, this pisses me off.
  • PUBG (XB1) – Wow, this is janky. I mean, it’s undeniably fun to play, but I’m surprised by the number of graphic snobs I know singing its praises given how badly it looks/runs. It’s not pretty.

Jay

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch) – As you can see my Switch is getting a fair bit of use out of it and that’s because 2017 has been a year of fantastic Nintendo games and I hope 2018 is gonna be just as amazing, I mean the Bayonetta collection drops in February so hopefully we have a year of strong titles! Anyway, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is still giving me goosebumps with every new cutscene that’s packed to the brim with action and not only do the cutscenes give me chills but so do the environments with such scope and scale it’s hard not to get lost at times as you explore!
  • Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ignis (PS4) – I cried. Manly tears. Final Fantasy XV, a year later finally feels like a complete game and I hope eventually that Square Enix will patch it so you can play the story with the DLC episodes included to feel like a fluid experience.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC (Switch) – Still making my way through the Champion’s Ballad DLC at a slow pace almost finished it now! It’s good fun! Maybe, I should review it… I think I might.
  • Overwatch (PC) – It’s time to make the doughnuts to get some holiday skins!

Dan

  • Steep (XB1) – After buying the game on Day 1 last year, I finally decided to dive into this. Perfect game to chill and relax after a 70 hr work week.
  • Persona 4 Golden (PS Vita) – Finishing up my 6th playthrough. So so good. Straight in the feels. NO YOU’RE CRYING.

Viki

  • Purrfect Date (PC) – I’m intrigued and slightly in love with the binge drinking Irish cat.
  • Fallout 4 (PS4) – Slowly but surely limping towards the finish line.

John

  • Titanfall 2 (PS4) – Don’t roll your eyes, of course I’m still playing Titanfall 2 – it’s bloody brilliant.
  • Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Blood and Wine) (PS4) – I spent pretty much the entire winter of 2016 playing Witcher 3 and didn’t regret one second of it. Now, after almost a year, I’ve finally jumped back in to complete the Blood and Wine expansion. Toussaint is a beautiful counterpart to every other environment the game offers. With a story that strings you along nicely, side-quests galore, and enough Gwent to last me until 2018, Witcher 3 has become (quite strangely) my go-to Christmas game.

Sarah

  • Bloodborne (PS4) – Well! I’m actually shocked at how much I’m enjoying this. I’m not a skilled gamer(!) and most things that involve precise movement or timing frustrate the hell out of me. But for some reason, Bloodborne has clicked. I’ve killed the Cleric Beast and am currently clearing out Central Yarnham of items while farming blood echoes. It will be interesting to see if I have the same opinion by next week, once I’ve encountered the next boss…
  • Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls (PS4) – I’m back on Diablo 3, but this time on PS4 – yep, I’m one of those people that like to own the same game on multiple platforms. While it feels a lot less fluid than the PC version, it’s far from unplayable.
  • Heroes of the Storm (PC) – Christmas skins! Woo!

Stewart

  • World of Warcraft: (PC) – I’ve been playing this pretty much all week, trying to catch up on my AP farming for a little extra help in progressing our guild runs of the latest raid tier. Plus being an alt-aholic I’ve been doing the same on far too many characters. The downside to MMO’s is that they take up so much time and means I don’t get to play other games.

How about you?
