World of Warcraft’s new expansion is live.

Conflict is starting to consume the World of Warcraft, as the Alliance strike the first blow and take down the Hordes biggest and most populated EU server. That’s right folks, Battle for Azeroth, World of Warcraft’s latest expansion is now live across the globe; but not without a few hitches.

As millions of players congregated in a small area willing the starting quest to unlock, everyone was waiting with baited breath, wondering if it was going to be a smooth transition into the new expansion like Legion before, or would it be more of the server/login issues of expansions prior? Compared to Legion’s release two years ago, it was far from smooth, with login issues, lots of customary lag, and even some servers being offline completely for three hours or so, but eventually, these issues did get resolved.

Battle for Azeroth is the seventh expansion for Blizzard Entertainment’s internationally acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft. This time out the emphasis is on the Horde versus the Alliance as they march to war. BFA launches around the world today, where players can champion their faction’s cause on new frontiers, seek critical war resources in Island Expeditions, and more as they embark on an epic campaign of war.
