Their tweet kind of gave it away.
Well, Codemaster’s announcement could’ve been a pretty big surprise if they hadn’t posted tweets which all but announced the game last week. But hey, looks like DiRT is back and this time it’s called DiRT Rally 2.0, being slated to arrive on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on February 2019.
The game’s confirmed to have six rally locations and will include cars – or motors for you absolute lads out there – from the 2018 FIA Rally Championship lineup. The official licensing also means you’ll be seeing their sponsor, Monster Energy, plastered around the game quite a bit.
Codemasters has also confirmed that those who pre-order the game will get to race around in a Porsche 911 RGT as their bonus as well as unlocking the Ford Escort MkII, Lancia Stratos, Subaru Impreza 1995, AUDI Sport quattro S1 E2 and Ford Fiesta OMSE SuperCar Lite from the off.
Ross Gowing, DiRT Rally 2.0 chief game designer, said that the team “are not afraid to make a challenging game. Driving a rally car down a stage is not easy and we want players to experience that same adrenaline rush from driving on the edge.” So, that should give you some idea of what to expect from the game.
DiRT Rally 2.0 will arrive on PC and console on February 2019, with the team having already decided on the first six months of content to arrive after release.
