Set to release on November 29 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Asterix & Obelix XXL2 will feature a bevvy of new features and improved graphics. For the collectors, Microïds will release a Limited and Collector’s Edition along with a digital standard version.

First off, the game will come in two different special editions:

  • Limited edition which will include the game and 3 figurines: Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix
  • Collector edition which will include the game, an exclusive Asterix figurine made of resin (15cm), an exclusive T-shirt (child size) and two lithographs

In Asterix & Obelix XXL2 has our two heroes, along with their faithful dog, on an adventure to Las Vegum. Players will be able to freely switch between the two protagonists and use their unique skills: Asterix uses the magic potion to help him overcome the Roman hordes, and can make his way through the smallest spaces with ease, while Obelix uses his incredible strength to destroy seemingly impassable obstacles.

And now for the new features of this remastered adventures of Asterix and Obelix:

  • New textures and models for all characters and enemies
  • New textures and lighting for environments
  • A new store system that changes which improves character upgrades. Think of it as a conventional skills tree
  • Two new skills: Cosmic Strike and Pantry
  • Health bar upgrade: the health bar can be upgraded as the player progresses through the game in order to reach a higher maximum health level
  • Addition of three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal and Hard
  • Challenges are bonus missions focused on fighting. The aim is to beat as many Romans as possible within a given time
  • Two challenges in each of the six game environments bringing the total up to 12
  • Bronze rank is easily accessible and is a decent way to earn money while reaching Gold rank is a real challenge
  • Postcards are now hidden in the levels
  • 3D Figurines unlockable in the shop
  • A new Fast Travel system allowing players to re-visit unlocked levels and find missing collectibles
