All the news, all in one place.

As Christmas rolls ever nearer, the news isn’t taking a break. We’ve got a short roundup this week with some more weird and wonderful stuff – the new Far Cry game being announced at the Game Awards certainly falling into the latter, and what is quite possibly the strangest collaboration I’ve ever seen. So catch up with the news over your Saturday breakfast, and read on below…

A collab between PUBG Mobile and… Resi 2?

Yes, you did read that correctly – a tweet from the Japanese Resident Evil account, which was then translated by Eurogamer, announced that “PUBG MOBILE × Resident Evil RE: 2 collaboration is decided! What kind of innovative play can be produced by combining the world’s most popular mobile game and survival horror’s monument, two super IPs?”

They also released the above trailer… and not a lot else. Whilst PUBG arrived for the PS4 this week, having already made its debut on Xbox One, PC, and mobile, and the Resident Evil 2 remake out next year, we’re not really sure what to expect from this collab. We’ll give you more details as they come.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Special Operations 3 is coming next week

If there’s not enough Ghost Recon Wildlands in your life, get hyped – the third free major update for the Year 2 post-launch content is heading to all platforms on December 11.

Special Operations 3 will introduce a handful of things – a new themed mission, new rewards for PVE players, two new PVP maps, and two new classes; if you have the year two season pass, you’ll get access to the new classes a week early on December 11, ahead of the official launch on December 18. Then there’s everyone’s favourite, Photo Mode, where you’ll be able to screenshot, share, and add filters/effects. The Store has been improved, along with 90 new items being added, along with a Special Operation 3-themed pack. Updates are also coming to the Prestige Economy, with more info to come.

Plus, if you’re playing on PC, you’ll be able to earn Battle Crate rewards by referring friends via the PC Referral program, from December 11 to February 11, which’ll include Spec Ops and Ghost War crates.

Crash is smashing his way back to your screen next year

Just to make your Friday that little bit better, Activision announced at the Game Awards 2018 that Crash Team Racing would be getting a remaster; Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on June 21, 2019. A short trailer was also released, which you can watch above.

Developed by Beenox, the game has been completely rebuilt, and many of the beloved characters and tracks will be returning. You can also play solo, with friends, either on or offline, and pick from various different modes: Adventure, Arcade Single Race, Cup Race, Time Trials, and Battle Mode.

Creative Mode for Fortnite is coming very soon!

Available on December 13 (or December 6 if you have Early Access) to those who have purchased the Season 7 Battle Pass.

If you have that, you’ll take control of your own private island for the first week of Season 7, where friends can be invited to play with and share your creations, where you’ll be able to build your own environments and play new types of games. And fear not! All your hard work is contained on your island and is saved after each session.
