What are you playing?

Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.

Here’s what we’re playing this week …

Jay

  • Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4): I recently revisited Kingdom Hearts 3 for charity as I recently suffered the loss of one of my best friends… She didn’t get to finish Kingdom Hearts 3 so I decided to finish it all in one sitting for her and in aid of a charity that helps children through bereavement. I was meant to promote the stream on the site but I found it too hard to write something to promote it…

Dan

  • Final Fantasy XIII (XB1): Knee deep in my favorite FF game. Loving it like the first time I played it
  • SEGA Genesis Classics (Switch): This makes me hope that Capcom will bring their collections to the Switch.
  • Resident Evil 2 (PS4):  Needed to play it again. Still aiming to finish it under 2 hours…not going well so far.

Stewart

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (PS4): One of my favourite Call of Duty titles, Modern Warfare introduced me to Cptn. Price, Gaz, and Soap from the infamous British SAS special forces. This is the game that tore me away from Halo 3 when it first released, and with a beautiful looking remaster it doesn’t disappoint the second time around. Great story and characters help to propel you through a lightning fast high-action campaign and some solid multiplayer. This time around there are PlayStation Trophies as well, so I went “Deep and Hard” (Trophy Title) and clocked the beast on Veteran difficulty for the challenge. Although I’m not really into Trophy hunting and Achievements, I will make an exception for this one, as I like the challenges they offer – “Mile High Club” for example wants you complete a balls-hard level on a plane in flight and rescue a hostage in under 1 minute on Veteran difficulty and it’s controller-throwing levels of frustration. Love it.

John

  • God’s Trigger (PS4): I can’t say too much at the moment but we’ve got our review up later today so keep an eye out!
  • Divinity Original Sin 2 (PS4): Finally managed to get my first playthrough sorted and now I just want to start all over again and make Lohse as evil as possible.

Viki

  • Zanki Zero: Last Beginning (PS4): I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did. It’s downright weird and unsettling with a surprisingly deep gameplay system and a great plot that’s paced well. Do recommend!

Sarah

  • Stellaris: Console Edition (PS4): Somehow, I’m still playing this. It’s become my go-to game when I have a spare five minutes. Except that those five minutes often turn into an hour or three…
  • World of Warcraft (PC): Not played too much this week but I’m still levelling my alliance druid.
